Lunch time sketch.

Internet was rubbish this lunch time so did this sketch instead. This guy shows up on page one so I guess it's only right I start to think about how he should look now. Looks a bit like Fudd to me.

Getting it slightly wrong.

The problem with computers is that is becomes very easy to "fix" any parts of your artwork that you particularly hate. It's very tempting to tweak and alter drawings however the end result, whilst correct, often end ups lifeless and dull. Here's a character sketch of Bob "unfixed". Some of the basic drawing is way off, but I'm learning to like the wrongness of my drawing.

Female Characters.

The story, as it stands centers around a character called Gem. Designing female characters always trips me up since it's tricky to come up with a design that's distinctive and appealing. Male characters tend to be a little more robust, being able to take a quite a bit of distortion before becoming too grotesque.
Oh I have a title for my story too "The Walking Statue"

False Starts

To "warm up" my drawing skills I attempted to just dive in and draw a few pages. I got stuck after about one. So this time my intention is to do full layouts for the whole book (!). I'll post the results here as I do them. Here's a couple of panels from that failed first page.

Why?

Maybe this will get me to knuckle down and actually do some work. It'll be my mission to post whatever progress I make towards actually completing a full comicbook. 64 pages!
